Happy Granny Square Day!

Hello my fellow crocheters, happy Granny Square Day!

For those of you that didn’t know about this, it’s International Granny Square Day on August 15th. It depends on the time zone where your country locates but still, I believe it’s okay to celebrate this special day together no matter where we are : )

Like mentioned previously, I am a big fan of granny squares. You may also check out my previous post if you missed that post : )

The tote bag shown in the photo above is one of the projects I finished last month. I followed a tutorial video on YouTube and it shares a brilliant idea of utilizing plain canvas bags for crochet projects. And I can tell you that it definitely is a game changer for crocheters who love making crochet tote bags but hate sewing bag linings (yup that’s me and I know I’m not alone lol).

I used New Fashion DK yarn, a 4.0mm crochet hook and a plain canvas bag (sized 30 x 35cm) for this project. It’s such a quick and easy project for crochet beginners. If you would love to celebrate Granny Square Day and have some extra time for a new project, this would be the one!

So how are you celebrating this special day? What’s you favourite granny square project? I would love to know about them too so please leave a comment down below!

P.S. I’m also working on a granny square sweater at the moment. I’ll share the photos with you when it’s done! Happy crocheting: )
