Craft room makeover

After a few hours of work, my craft room is officially done now! It was faster than I expected but turned out exactly how I imagined. I’m very satisfied with how it looks now and it’s so refreshing that it feels like I have a new craft room haha.

Since I’ve already cleared some unused stuff beforehand, I simply needed to rearrange my two desks and the shelf, change the curtain and put my new yarn and other things from my two trips away. I know it doesn’t look a lot but with all of them messily lying on my desks, I just couldn’t relax and enjoy crocheting in there.

The major difference is the placement of the two desks. As you can see from the photo above, I used to place my desks side by side and it took quite a lot of space. With the new setup, I get to have some extra space in the room and it’s also easier for me to work on my projects on the desks while using my iMac.

The other change that I looked forward the most is changing the curtains. I didn’t think much when getting the old sky blue one and I knew I need to change it for a refreshing look. I did search for inspiration online and finally decided to go with this combination. I’m really surprised how much the vibe is changed just by changing the curtain. I love how the light is kind of passing through and it looks amazing!

Although I do enjoy watching room tour or room makeover videos on YouTube, I used to avoid filming these types of video since I think it’s too personal for me to share online. However, I figured it’s okay to only share my craft room since it’s part of my crochet journey. I also do not have too many personal stuff in the room and it would make it much easier if I can film in my craft room without worrying too much. I’m not sure if you have similar worries, but I hope my experience would help if you’re interested but hesitates to share your crochet journey with others.

I filmed the whole process and I actually had a lot of fun! You may check out the full length video below for an immersive experience : )

As I mentioned in the video, there are a few things left to completely finish the room makeover. My new chair arrived yesterday and it’s super cute! The new desk mat and the other curtain are still on the way. I’ll take a photo of the completed craft room and share with you once I have them all set : )

Now that I’ve put away all the new yarn and get everything well-organised, it’s much more accessible than before and it makes filming less time-consuming. I no longer need to fight with my overflowing stuff just to find space to work or find a nice-looking background for filming. I have filmed some new videos already and I’ll upload them once the editing is finished! Stay tuned : )

P.S. I know I’ve said that I’m not going to buy any new yarn last month, I’m literally thinking of getting some new yarn for a new project… My fellow yarn lovers, please tell me I’m not alone haha. Well, on the positive side, at least I didn’t buy any yarn for more than a month!
